Education Outreach at Hopkins Demonstration Forest

Hopkins delivered environmental education and forestry programing to well over 5000 visitors in 2018.

Hopkins Demonstration Forest encompasses 140 acres of Douglas-fir and western redcedar forest, just eight miles south of Oregon City. There is rarely a day without a school program at Hopkins, especially in the fall and spring. In 2018, Hopkins played host to at least three classes a week. From the Thimble Forest Preschool to the Portland State University Senior Capstone Mentors and Adult Workshops, Hopkins delivered environmental education and forestry programing to well over 5000 visitors.  Many more visitors enjoyed hiking and exploring the forest trails on their own during open hours.
