AGRICULTURE
ABOUT US
The Agriculture team in Clackamas County hails from three distinct programs; Small Farms, Forages/Livestock, and The North Willamette Research and Extension Center (NWREC).
The Small Farms Program serves small scale farmers and non-commercial small acreage landowners in the state’s most populous area. They collaborate with a rich network of farm support organizations in the region, hosting workshops for the farm community. Their focus embraces ecological farming systems.
The Willamette Livestock and Forages Program provides researched based information and education to sheep, goat, cattle, and forage producers.
NWREC is the most agriculturally diverse of OSU’s research and extension centers based on the number of commercial agricultural crops they work with. Located on 160 acres in Clackamas County, it is the only agricultural research center serving the Willamette Valley — in the heart of Oregon’s most productive farming region.
