FAMILY AND COMMUNITY HEALTH
Summer Interns In Action
This summer, we were proud to host two outstanding interns, Macy and Natalie, as part of the OSU Extension Service internship program. Throughout their time with us, Macy and Natalie meaningfully contributed to supporting community health and learned about Extension’s mission of service. Some of the key parts of their work included tabling at community events, co-leading the Walk with Ease program, providing educational resources at the local free food markets, and helping prepare and support Small Farms School. Macy noted “through this program I’ve learned the importance of empathy, active listening, communication, and the meaning of community outreach. I am grateful I had the chance to build these skills.” Natalie also added “I have been able to grow through the summer and meet so many wonderful people, who have also taught me so much.” Currently both are OSU students. Macy is in her second year of the Agricultural & Food Business Management program and Natalie is in her first year of her Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Sciences program. We are grateful for their service and wish them continued success!
