OSU’s North Willamette Research and Extension Center (NWREC) is one of 12 off-campus agricultural research centers in the state and the only one serving the research and education needs of farmers in the Willamette Valley. NWREC is a 160-acre, fully irrigated, secured facility, located on the southern edge of Portland’s urban growth boundary, just south of Wilsonville.

NWREC’s research and education programs focus on a broad array of crops and production systems important to farmers in the Willamette Valley, including nursery and greenhouse crops, berries, Christmas trees, vegetables and specialty seeds, tree orchard crops, field crops, small farm production, and pesticide registration research.

Faculty and staff share their research and knowledge with the agricultural community and the public through education programs and events at the Research Center and at venues around the state, nation and world.

NWREC also offers private tours for groups that want to learn more about the food, products and research happening on the farm.

We offer many opportunities to connect with us through events, public tours, open houses, newsletters and social media.
