4-H YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

EAT – Exploring Agriculture Tour 2025

 Twenty-one youth and eight adults traveled with Doug Kitchen, Clackamas County 4-H Beef Superintendent, to Boardman, Oregon, in a fun and educational experience focusing on three agricultural, farming, and dairy industries.

• Threemile Canyon Farms: Participants learned about growing conventional and organic crops in an earth-friendly way, emphasizing reusing and recycling. As well as touring the conventional and organic dairies with over 33,000 cows.
• Lamb Weston: is known as a premier potato grower and fries company, utilizing science and information harvested here to continuously set new standards for frozen fries available to restaurants and consumers.
• Sage Center: Where participants engaged in the hands-on learning and education exhibits that show how food gets from farm-to-table.
